Rep. Williams Honored as ‘Legislator of the Year’ by CT Carwash Association |

Award Reflects Rep. Williams’ Support for Tax and Regulatory Relief for Small Businesses
State Representative Sean Williams has been honored as a ‘Legislator of the Year’ by the Connecticut Carwash Association for his support for tax and regulatory relief for small businesses and his efforts to improve the state’s business climate.
“Small businesses like local car wash establishments are the backbone of Connecticut’s economy. They provide thousands of jobs for the people of our state, offer goods and services that all of us use, and generate millions in revenues to the state,” said Representative Williams, R-68th District, who received the award at the 18th Annual CCA Mini-Expo at the Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell April 11th.
“Unfortunately, state government does not do as much as it could to support small businesses in Connecticut. Complying with the regulatory red tape the state imposes on small entrepreneurs makes it more difficult and expensive to start up and operate a business here. For that reason, one of my most important goals as a state legislator has been to streamline the regulatory process and eliminate nuisance taxes that add to the cost of doing business in Connecticut,” Representative Williams said.
“Making our state more business-friendly strengthens the economy and creates more jobs,” Representative Williams said. “I’d like to thank the CCA for recognizing my efforts on behalf of our state’s small business owners by honoring me with this award.”
