Williams Calls for Special Session |

Says Power Rates to Consumers and High Gas Prices Need to be Addressed
HARTFORD – State Representative Sean Williams (R-Oakville) today issued a call for a special session of the Connecticut General Assembly to handle pressing issues the legislature failed to address during the Regular Session which adjourned Wednesday, May 3rd, at midnight.
“There was a 22% increase on ratepayers this year, and the General Assembly did nothing about it,” said Williams. “The House and Senate also failed to take any action on increasing gas prices, or on eminent domain.
“They did have plenty of time to talk about a state cookie and waste hours of debate on how much sugary soda children should be able to drink in school. This past session was full of misplaced priorities and a total lack of vision. We need to come back and take action now on critical and meaningful issues that impact Connecticut residents.”
Williams urged either the Governor to call the legislature in, or for the chambers to call themselves into special session to handle the issues.
