REP. SCRIBNER: RESIDENTS CAN BENEFIT FROM ENERGY ASSISTANCE MEASURES

 

HARTFORD - State Rep. David Scribner (R-Brookfield, Bethel) today reminded Brookfield and Bethel residents they can benefit from energy assistance measures approved by the Legislature in late August.

 

“Given the skyrocketing costs of fuel and electricity we’ve seen in the past year, it was a valid use of surplus funds to help taxpayers who provided that surplus through energy assistance this fall and winter,” said Rep. Scribner. “I’m hopeful people who are eligible to for these programs will take a closer look to see how they may benefit from them.”

For more information on who is eligible for state and federal energy assistance programs, residents can call the state's 2-1-1 hotline for the location of the nearest agency to apply for the aid. Residents also can call the state's winter heating aid hotline at 800-842-1132 to learn about current income and asset eligibility limits.
