Rep. Pam Sawyer applauds bonding funds for resurfacing of Route 85 stretch in Hebron

HARTFORD – State Rep. Pam Sawyer (R-Bolton) today applauded the State Bond Commission for approving $59 million to improve and repair the parts of the state's highways, including a 4.75 mile stretch of Route 85 in Hebron.

Rep. Sawyer said, “This part of Route 85 is a major stretch of road through the center of town, extending towards Glastonbury and Bolton. I am pleased that the repaving will be started in August and the DOT expects the job to be completed before the Hebron Fair in September.”

The portion of road in Hebron that is slated for resurfacing runs from the intersection of Route 85 and Route 66 to the intersection of Route 85 and Route 94. The cost of the resurfacing of the two lanes of Route 85 in Hebron is estimated to be $1.045 million.

The Department of Transportation expects the work to begin in mid to late August.
