Sawyer Recommends DMV Online Features

HARTFORD- State Representative Pam Sawyer (R-Bolton) encourages residents to check out a number of new features available from the Department of Motor Vehicles at their web site, www.ct.gov/dmv .

The DMV now allows you to auto renew on certain kinds of registrations online, from the convenience of home without having to combat lines at your local DMV office.  This is a new initiative under DMV Commissioner Robert M. Ward.

To be eligible to renew online you must have no delinquent taxes due, and must not have any outstanding parking tickets or a currently suspended registration.  You must also be in compliance with insurance and emissions requirements.

“These are terrific new developments at the DMV that save gasoline and time in line at the DMV for busy folks,” said Sawyer.  “I am pleased to see these innovations implemented and look forward to continuing developments there making our state government more responsive and easier to access.”

There are other services such as driving manuals, and the ability to search vanity plates to see if a plate you would like to have is available.
