Rep. Ruwet Honored by Community Service Providers

The Connecticut Community Providers Association has presented an award recognizing  State Rep. Anne Ruwet, R-65^th, Torrington, for her support of nonprofit organizations that provide services to people with disabilities and other special needs.

“We are pleased to recognize Rep. Ruwet for her consistent and strong support for community providers,” said Terry Edelstein, president and CEO of the Community Providers Association. “She has long been a strong advocate for the funding necessary to support services for people with disabilities and significant needs.”

Rep. Ruwet received a plaque, presented by Ms. Edelstein and Donna Campbell, president and CEO of the Northwest Center for Family Services and Mental Health in Torrington.

The recognition breakfast took place September 25 at the Northwest Center for Family Service and Mental Health, 100 Commercial Boulevard in Torrington.

Rep. Ruwet is ranking member of the legislature’s Children’s Committee, as well as a member of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee and the Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee.

She serves the 65^th Assembly District of Torrington in the State House of Representatives.
