REP. ROWE: CEREMONY TO HONOR AREA VETERANS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 28

HARTFORD - State Rep. T.R. Rowe, R-Trumbull, today reminded Trumbull residents that a ceremony presenting the new Connecticut War Times Service Medal to local Veterans will take place on Wednesday, May 28 at Trumbull High School. Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. and the ceremony will begin between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

To be eligible for the honor, a veteran must have served in time of war, as defined in state  statutes, and who either was a resident of Connecticut at the time he or she was called to active duty for such service, or is domiciled in this state on the date of such award.

This year, Rep. Rowe has mailed letters throughout Trumbull informing Veterans of the medal.  Medals will be mailed to Veterans who submitted an approved application to the CT Department of Veterans Affairs, but do not wish to attend the May 28 celebration.

"This Medal Program is a small but important way to honor those who have served our nation in the military in times of war,” said Rep. Rowe. “I am very much looking forward to the ceremony and the awarding of these medals to our brave and deserving servicemen."
