State Rep. John Piscopo (R-Thomaston) welcomes Thomaston H.S. Class S state champs to the Capitol

State Rep. John Piscopo (R-Thomaston) today welcomed the Thomaston High School Class S state champion baseball team to the Capitol in Hartford. The Golden Bears capped an impressive run in the state tournament with a 6-5 win over St. Bernard-Uncasville at Palmer Field in Middletown on Saturday, June 7.

Rep. Piscopo introduced the members of the team and presented the Golden Bears with an official citation from the Governor before the entire House of Representatives prior to going into special session.

“As a Thomaston High School alum, it was a very special moment for me to welcome these fine young men to the Capitol in recognition of their stellar achievement on the baseball diamond,” said Rep. Piscopo. “This team has really brought out the Thomaston spirit through the magical run in the state tournament. My hat is off to the players, coaches, parents, and fans who made this state championship dream a reality.”

After being introduced in the House, the team made its way to the state Senate, where state Sen. Rob Kane (R-Watertown) introduced members of the Thomaston High School squad.
