Perillo Presents Governor Rell with Signed Shelton Little League Champion Ball

HARTFORD- When newly-elected State Representative Jason Perillo (R-Shelton) was sworn into office on October 12, he brought a gift for Governor M. Jodi Rell who hosted the event in her office in the State Capitol.

After the swearing in, Perillo presented Governor Rell with a baseball that was signed by the players and coaches of the Shelton National Little League team.  The team won the Connecticut Little League State Championship, and was eliminated only one game away from the LL World Series.

“I am very proud of the Shelton Little League players, coaches and parents,” said Perillo.  “The entire community takes great pride in their tremendous accomplishments and the character they exhibited in achieving them.  I was honored to deliver the signed ball to Governor Rell.  These kids represent some of the very best in Shelton, and in Connecticut.”

“I was very pleased to receive the signed ball from the State Champion Shelton Little League,” said Governor Rell. “The Shelton team worked very hard and made the entire State of Connecticut proud of their efforts in the New England Championship.  I wish all the team members and coaches great success in the future.”

The amazing run of the Shelton team ended on August 11th, when Walpole, MA defeated them in the New England Championship for a birth in the Little League Baseball World Series.

“It’s baseball,” said Perillo. “The great thing is, there is always next year, and I think these kids have a great shot of going all the way next time.  I’ll certainly be rooting for them to get there.”
