HARTFORD – Deputy House Republican Leader Themis Klarides (R-114) was recognized by the Children’s Community Programs of CT, Inc. at their Fifth Annual Hall of Fame Dinner on Thursday June 5, 2008, which was being held at the Laurel View Country Club in Hamden. Klarides was honored for her legislative and volunteer work in support of children and families.
The Children’s Community Programs of CT, Inc. is a private non-profit, multi-service agency committed to providing diverse and creative support services to children and families throughout Connecticut.
Klarides received the organization’s Legislative Award at the event, which was hosted by Matt Scott of WTNH Channel 8 News. Other honorees for the evening included Faith Middleton of the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network, and Dr. Cindy Rutledge, Director of Alternative Education & Programs.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by this great organization,” said Klarides. “I consider them a valuable partner in the collective community effort to extend every possible resource to the goal of helping shape young lives. Their motto of ‘every child counts’ says it all.”
