Klarides: Marshal’s Association Donates To Umbrella Group |

HARTFORD – Deputy House Republican Leader Themis Klarides (R-114) today announced that she has arranged for the New Haven County Marshal’s Association to make a charitable contribution to the Umbrella Group, an organization that combats domestic violence.
Klarides has volunteered legal assistance with the Umbrella Group for a number of years. The organization provides assistance and resources to women and children at abuse shelters who are victims of domestic violence.
The Marshal’s Association has an ongoing charitable donation program, and Klarides suggested they consider donating to the Umbrella Group. The Marshal’s Association has presented the Umbrella Group with a check for $500. The funds were presented at a dinner meeting of the Association last night at John J. Sullivan’s in Ansonia.
“I deeply appreciate the Marshal’s Association making this generous contribution,” said Klarides. “The Umbrella Group is an organization that makes a real difference in the lives of victims of domestic abuse, and their children. A little money goes a long way in helping these people get their lives back together through education and outreach, emergency shelter and crisis services, and the other valuable assistance Umbrella provides.”
