Klarides, Crisco and Gentile Announce $500,000 for Griffin Hosptial Services |

Funding will used to be expand emergency services
HARTFORD – State Representative Themis Klarides (R-Derby),Senator Joseph Crisco (D-Woodbridge) and Representative Linda Gentile (D-Ansonia), announced that the revised bonding package approved by the General Assembly includes $500,000 in funding for Griffin Hospital to upgrade emergency services facilities. The emergency department is being renovated to enhance patient flow and to improve the entire emergency services operation.
“Griffin Hospital offers superior emergency service, and these funds we have secured will help Griffin improve upon that excellence,” said Representative Klarides, who serves on the Griffin Health Services Board of Directors and volunteers as a member of the Residency Advisory Committee of the Hospital. “I know first-hand from my work the great people in the Griffin organization that this infusion will improve healthcare service for the entire region.”
“I’m glad the legislative delegation could play a role in helping to provide funding that will allow Griffin Hospital to further improve emergency services for residents in the area,” said Senator Crisco. “The hospital has been a gem in the crown of health care for the community, and this just adds to that crown.”
“Griffin Hospital is an outstanding facility that provides a number of services to the people of Ansonia, Derby and the Valley. This funding will be used to further the emergency services that the hospital is able to provide,” said Representative Gentile.
The bonding package has to be approved by Governor Rell and the State Bond Commission. The governor has indicated she will sign the bill into law.
