Reps. Klarides and Davis Announce Grant for Turkey Hill School in Orange

HARTFORD- State Representatives Themis Klarides (R-114) and Paul Davis (D- 117) have announced that Turkey Hill School in Orange will receive $75,000 in grant funds for the construction of a new community playground.  The funds are expected to be approved at the next regularly scheduled State Bond Commission meeting, to be held this Friday, March 31st.

“I am pleased to see funds scheduled for approval for this new playground project,” said Representative Klarides.  “The local community is putting forward $20,000 of their money toward this project, demonstrating their commitment to it.  I appreciate Governor Rell and the Bond Commission continuing to make our communities a priority by considering this funding to make up the difference for the creation of this playground.  Not only have we been able to get this funding approved but we were finally able to get the funding released for the Mary L. Tracy School in Orange which was approved over a year ago.”

“This funding is greatly appreciated and will go a long way towards enhancing our facilities at Turkey Hill School,” said State Representative Paul Davis (D-117th District), “When we work together our community benefits by our efforts.”

The State Bond Commission, which is chaired by Governor M. Jodi Rell, is scheduled to meet at 10:30 a.m. in Room 1E of the Legislative office Building on Friday, March 31st.
