REP. HOVEY SECURES GRANT TO RENOVATE MONROE LITTLE LEAGUE FACILITY |

State Representative DebraLee Hovey, R-Monroe, has secured a $10,000 state grant for upgrades to the Monroe Little League Beardsley Field at Cross Hill Road. The funds were secured through the state Office of Policy and Management. The Monroe Little League will hold ceremonies recognizing the grant at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 at Wolfe Park Field 1 prior to opening game sessions.
The funds will be used for the installation of batting cages at the Cross Hill Road facility. Monroe Little League Treasurer Robert Jarnutowski said the cages will provide players better coordinated practice and warm-up time.
“This is terrific news,” said Jarnutowski. “We appreciate DebraLee Hovey’s efforts in getting this grant through the process because it will help so much with practice and player development.”
“I could not be more thrilled to help out the Monroe Little League,” said Rep. Hovey. “The league’s program provides recreation opportunities for a large number of families and brings parents and children together. While this grant is a relatively small amount, it’s been my pleasure to assist them.”
