Reps. Hetherington, Sherer to Hold Town Hall Meeting, April 1

Invite Residents to Discuss Issues before the State Legislature

State Reps. John W. Hetherington, R-125^th, and Donald B. Sherer, R- 147^th, will meet with members of the public at a Town Hall Meeting, Saturday, April 1, from 10 am to 11 noon at the New Canaan Town Hall Auditorium, 77 Main Street in New Canaan.

Residents of New Canaan, Stamford, and Wilton are cordially invited to attend. Reps. Hetherington and Sherer will discuss issues expected to come before the 2006 session of the state legislature, or other state-related matters of concern.

Rep. Hetherington said, “This is an opportunity for citizens to meet with their state representatives, to hear about action in the legislature, ask questions and raise issues. Clearly, transportation and education are important matters to our area, but we will be glad to deal with questions on other state-related concerns.”

Rep. Sherer said, “There are many hot-button issues that will certainly arise this year, and we would like to hear voters’ opinions on these matters.”

Rep. Hetherington serves the 125^th Assembly District of New Canaan and Wilton, and Rep. Sherer represents the 147^th District of New Canaan and Stamford in the state House of Representatives.
