Rep. Hamzy: Bond Commission To Act on Funding for Bristol Technical Education Center |

The State Bond Commission is expected to act Friday on funding totaling $15,000 for various improvements and upgrades at the Bristol Technical Education Center, state Representative William A. Hamzy, R-78th District, announced today.
The funding is included in a $1,521,100 allocation that will finance alterations and improvements and pay for new and replacement equipment, tools and supplies necessary to update curricula and upgrade vehicles and technology at technical high schools around the state, Representative Hamzy said.
“The Bristol Technical Education Center provides a pool of well-trained graduates to meet the employment needs of manufacturers and high-tech companies in the Greater Bristol area. Our vocational technical schools need modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology and equipment to continue meeting those demands,” Representative Hamzy said.
“The upgrades this funding will make possible will enable the Bristol Technical Education Center to ensure its students continue to receive training on the newest equipment and technology used by area employers. I’m proud of the fact that the school is located in my district and I will continue to support funding to ensure that it has the tools it needs to accomplish its mission,” Representative Hamzy said.
