Rep. Hamzy, Mayor Krampitz: $500,000 Grant Okayed for Plymouth Business Park

A $500,000 grant that will finance construction of a water booster pump station at Swicklas Court in the Plymouth Business Park has been approved by the State Bond Commission, state Representative William A. Hamzy, R-78th District, and Plymouth Mayor Jan Krampitz announced today.

The grant was approved at the Bond Commission’s monthly meeting today.

“This critical project will enhance the business park’s marketability to potential employers and create more jobs over the next few years,” said Representative Hamzy, who worked to secure the funding.  “The continued growth of the business park is playing a major role in stabilizing the town’s tax base and reducing the burden on homeowners. This grant is an investment in Plymouth’s future that will pay dividends for years to come.”

“The pump station will provide water service for companies who are interested in moving to the Plymouth business park. It will mean further expansion of the park and more employment opportunities for Plymouth residents,” Mayor Krampitz said. “Representative Hamzy played a major role in gaining approval for this funding by arranging a recent meeting between DECD, myself and other local officials. We greatly appreciate his efforts and look forward to moving ahead with this important project.”

The pump station will provide necessary water pressure for fire suppression systems at several development parcels on Swicklas Court and for all the water requirements for Phase IV of the park, Representative Hamzy and Mayor Krampitz said.
