Rep. Greene Achieves 100 Percent Attendance Rating for House Roll Call Votes in 2007 |

Was Present and Voting for 418 of 420 Roll Call Votes
State representative Len Greene achieved a 100 percent attendance rating for roll call votes on the floor of the state House of Representatives during the 2007 legislative session, according to statistics provided by the House Clerks’ office.
“Since I was first elected to the state legislature in 1997, I have always tried to be present and voting for all roll call votes, both on the floor of the House and in committee, and for the most part, I have achieved that goal,” said Representative Greene, R-105th District. . “I always have strived to maintain a perfect or near-perfect attendance record for floor votes. It is one of my most important responsibilities as Ansonia, Beacon Falls and Seymour’s advocate in Hartford.”
“Most of the measures we consider on the House floor and in committee will affect our constituents either positively or negatively,” Representative Greene said. “My job is to closely scrutinize every bill that comes before us and to support those that help the people of the 105th District and to oppose those that are not in our best interests. Over the past 10 years, being present and voting on the floor and in committee has helped me build lasting relationships with legislators on both sides of the aisle and enabled me to more effectively serve our communities.”
During the 2007 legislative session, several measures Representative Greene supported became law, including the 2007 – 2009 state budget, which included no major tax increases and additional funding for 105th District schools, including $2.2 million more for Ansonia; $607,545 more for Beacon Falls; and $1,390,940 more for Seymour.
Several state grants also were approved, including: a $100,000 grant for the Boys and Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley to help pay for the conversion of the former Pine-Willis School building into a second Valley clubhouse; $796,967 for building improvements and the purchase of new computers and computer networking equipment for Emmett O’Brien Technical High School; $67,333 for the Seymour Public Library to help pay for the replacement of its old air conditioning system; and $365,381 for the resurfacing of a section of Route 42 in Beacon Falls.
Expressed in percentages, the House Clerks’ Office rated Representative Greene’s attendance at 100 percent (a record achieved by only 24 of Connecticut’s 151 state representatives). Representative Greene was present and voting for 418 of the 420 roll call votes taken on the state House floor during the 2007 session, the House Clerk’s Office said.
