Forum on New Teen Driving Laws, Sept. 3 |

Rep. Marilyn Giuliano to host regional meeting to highlight changes in Connecticut laws on young drivers to promote highway safety and save lives.
Shoreline teens, their parents and guardians can learn about new state teen driving laws at an informational forum organized by Rep. Marilyn Giuliano to be held Wednesday, September 3, at Old Saybrook High School from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Panelists will explain the new state laws that took effect on August 1 and answer questions from the audience. Rep. Marilyn Giuliano will serve as moderator.
Speakers at the forum will include representatives from the Connecticut Liquor Control Commission, a police officer who responded to two teen driving fatalities, Mothers against Drunk Driving and a school representative.
Residents of Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Lyme, Old Lyme and surrounding towns are invited to attend. This is one of several regional forums being organized around the state to help people understand the new laws that are aimed at reducing teen driving accidents and fatalities throughout Connecticut.
The laws increase new-driver training requirements, limit passengers that new drivers may carry in the vehicle, restrict late-night driving and increase penalties for violators.
Rep. Giuliano serves the 23rd Assembly District of Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook in the state House of Representatives.
