Rep. Giuliano To Hold Office Hours for Constituents in Old Saybrook, Westbrook

Seeks Input from Residents as 2007 Legislative Session Looms

State Representative Marilyn Giuliano, R-23rd District, has scheduled office hours for constituents on Saturday, October 21st in Old Saybrook and Westbrook.

Representative Giuliano’s Old Saybrook office hours will be held at the Acton Library’s second floor Conference Room from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.; and at the Westbrook Public Library’s first floor Conference Room from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. No appointments are necessary.

“The 2007 legislative session, which will get underway in about four months, will be considering several major issues, including more equitable funding for education and special education for suburban communities, and environmental issues such as the proposed Broadwater liquefied natural gas platform in Long Island Sound, which is a major concern for our Shoreline communities,” Representative Giuliano said.

“While I expect those issues will be of major importance to the people of Old Saybrook and Westbrook, I’m sure they are not the only ones. That’s why I hope to hear from as many residents as possible before the new legislative session convenes. I base my legislative goals and priorities on the input I receive from the people of the 23rd District. Although many Old Saybrook and Westbrook residents have written, called or sent me e-mails about the issues that concern them the most, I would like to hear from even more of you before the session gets underway,” Representative Giuliano said. “If you’d like to share your thoughts or suggestions with me about any issue or problem affecting our towns or our state, please take a few minutes and meet with me at the Acton Library or the Westbrook Library on Saturday, October 21st.”
