REPRESENTATIVE GIEGLER ACHIEVES 100 PERCENT VOTING RECORD IN STATE LEGISLATURE

Hartford—According to records released by the clerk of the House of Representatives, State Representative Janice Giegler (R-Danbury, New Fairfield) achieved a 100 percent voting record in the General Assembly in 2007. The Legislature concluded its business for the year on December 5, after holding an ongoing special session since the regular legislative session adjourned in June.

According to the House Clerks Office summary, Rep. Giegler is one of only 14 House lawmakers to vote on all 420 bills before the House of Representatives during the 2007 legislative sessions. There are 151 members in the state House of Representatives.

“Serving in the General Assembly is a commitment that I’ve always taken seriously,” said Rep. Giegler. “I made a promise I would represent my district and be their voice in Hartford. I think that obligation is demonstrated by being present to vote on all the issues that were brought before the House this session.”

Representative Giegler serves as Ranking Member (House Republican Leader) of the Legislature’s Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee and as a member of the Public Health and Internship Committees. She was elected to her third term in the House of Representatives in November 2006.
