REP. FLOREN RECOGNIZED BY GREENWICH LAND TRUST |

GREENWICH – Greenwich Land Trust has honored State Representative Livvy R. Floren, R-149th with recognition for helping to pass legislation removing the requirement for a public auction for the sale of real property by a water company.
Under the act, a public auction or other procedure for public sale is not required for the sale or other disposition of real property by a water company to the state, a municipality, or land conservation organization if (1) at least 70% of the area of the real property sold or disposed of is to be used for open space or recreational purposes and (2) the consideration received is not less than the appraised value of the property.
Rep. Floren said, “This legislation helps preserve open space and protect it from potential over development. Environmental issues remain among my top legislative priorities.”
The Greenwich Land Trust was founded in 1971 from a division of the Greenwich Audubon Society. Since their establishment, The Greenwich Land Trust has become an environmental leader within Greenwich and the surrounding communities.
