Rep. Floren’s Recent News Quotes |

Here are some quotes from the Greenwich Time on March 10th regarding the Governor’s Budget proposal:
Other town Republicans, such as Rep. Livvy Floren, R-149th District,
have come out swinging in favor of the governor, saying Rell would have won
regardless of the Republican vote because her appeal crosses party lines. "The
woman is the most popular governor in the history of the world," Floren
said. "It wouldn't matter if she was a Republican, Democrat or
vegetarian."
Floren said she does not support raising income taxes, but she is willing to
listen to Rell's point of view, adding the budget the governor and legislators
will eventually agree to will likely include compromises that members of both
parties will find palatable.
"The woman wants to solve problems, and you can't do it without
spending money," Floren said. "I'm not willing to jump on this
'Let's be negative on the governor.' I will not do that. I think all issues are
on the table, and we should all look at it. She's put out a plan. Will it be
the final plan? Never. It will never be the final plan. That's what government
is. It's about compromise."
Another quote from Greenwich Time – February 25th 2007 regarding the So-called Millionaires Tax proposal:
"I will be against anything that treats Fairfield County as a fiscal pinata," Floren said. "I will just not allow it."
