State Rep. Richard Ferrari appointed to National Council of State Legislatures Committee

State Rep. Richard Ferrari (R-Granby) has been appointed to the National Council of State Legislatures’ Legislative Effectiveness Committee. The appointment allows Rep. Ferrari the opportunity to meet with fellow leaders from across the country and exchange ideas relevant to the legislative process.

“The process of government is steeped with tradition and long-established processes, meaning change does not usually come easily,” said Rep. Ferrari. “I hope this committee can look at different ways in creating more efficiency and bring us into the 21st Century.”

“I am glad to be able to look at the process and find ways to incorporate new technologies and ideas to make us more responsive to our constituents who are beginning to take a more active role in their government,” added Rep. Ferrari.

According to its Web site, the National Conference of State Legislatures is a bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states, its commonwealths and territories. NCSL provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues.

Rep. Richard Ferrari (R-62) represents Barkhamsted, East Granby, Granby and New Hartford in the General Assembly.
