Rep. Ferrari Joins Heartland Institute’s Legislative Advisory Board

State Representative Richard F. Ferrari, R-62^nd District, has accepted a position on the Legislative Advisory Board of The Heartland Institute, a 22-year-old national nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

Representative Ferrari will advise Heartland on issues and topics the organization may wish to address as well as serving as a source for the think tank’s scholars and reporters.

Heartland Legislative Advisors also submit essays and news reports for Heartland publications; meet with counterparts from other states at seminars and conferences; and receive priority treatment for their research requests.

“I’m very pleased to have been accepted as one of the Heartland Institute’s Legislative Advisors and look forward to working with the institute and my colleagues from other states on new approaches to issues of concern to all of us,” Representative Ferrari said.

“I anticipate that my service with the institute will give me the opportunity to learn how legislators in other states have dealt with problems that have defied solution in Connecticut,” Representative Ferrari said. “When lawmakers from different parts of the country have a forum like the Heartland Institute where we can discuss issues of common concern, the result can be new legislative initiatives that work for all of us.”
