Rep. Ferrari Compiles Perfect Attendance Record for 2006 Legislative Session |

State Representative Richard F. Ferrari, R-62nd District, compiled a perfect record for votes cast on the floor of the state House of Representatives during the 2006 legislative session, according to data provided by the House Clerk’s Office.
Representative Ferrari was present and voting for all of the 321 votes taken on the state House floor, according to the House Clerk’s Office. This year, only 21 out of 151 state representatives had perfect records for floor votes.
“One of the most basic responsibilities state legislators have to the people who elect them is to vote on bills that will affect their constituents for better or worse if they become law,” Representative Ferrari said. “Even measures that on the surface seem unimportant or frivolous sometimes have unintended consequences and have to be amended or repealed years after they were put on the books. That is why I believe it is very important for me to be on the floor and voting whenever a bill comes before the House for our consideration.”
“Since my freshman year in 1991, I have made a special effort to be present and voting on the floor of the House for as many roll call votes as possible,” Representative Ferrari said. “My goal always has been to compile perfect or near-perfect attendance records, and while illness, family emergencies or conflicting legislative responsibilities has occasionally resulted in my missing a vote, it is an objective I always strive for. This year, I voted for every measure that came before us. One of my most important challenges for the next two years will be to replicate that record.”
