Rep. Ferrari Moves to Appropriations Committee

State Representative Richard F. Ferrari has been appointed to the General Assembly’s Appropriations Committee by House Minority Leader Robert M. Ward, R-86th District.

Representative Ferrari, R-62nd District, was moved from the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee to the Appropriations Committee as part of a mid-term re-organization of the two panels.

“I served on Appropriations for about eight years during the 1990s and am familiar with the committee’s responsibilities and processes,” Representative Ferrari said. “The Appropriations Committee has the primary legislative responsibility for determining how state revenues are allocated to state agencies and programs that benefit Connecticut municipalities while the finance committee is primarily concerned with raising revenues to fund ongoing state operations and developing bond packages that provide funding for various state and local capital projects.”

“As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will be fighting for responsible state budgets that provide for a more equitable distribution of scarce revenues between Connecticut’s rural, suburban and urban communities,” Representative Ferrari said. “I look forward to returning to the Appropriations Committee and to meeting the difficult challenges we will have to resolve over the next few months.”
