Suffield’s McAnaney appointed to Transportation Commission

Suffield resident Edward McAnaney has been appointed to the Connecticut Public Transportation Commission. Mr. McAnaney was appointed by House Republican Leader Larry Cafero (R-Norwalk) at the request of state Rep. Ruth Fahrbach (R-Windsor).

The commission is an advisory group of 18 public members and several state agencies. As indicated on the commission’s Web site, its function is to advise the Governor, the Commissioner of Transportation, and the Transportation Committee of the General Assembly on issues affecting public transportation. The commission submits an annual report at the end of each year, and conducts monthly meetings as issues arise during the year.

“I recommended his appointment to Rep. Cafero, and I'm pleased that he agrees that Ed is an excellent appointment to the commission,” said Rep. Fahrbach.  “Ed has been a fan and frequent user of public transportation and his passion for transportation issues makes him an excellent candidate for this appointment.  He will put his interests and experiences to good use as a member of the Commission. ”

Mr. McAnaney has served his country as an officer in the U.S. Navy.  He currently serves as the town attorney for Suffield, as well as the probate judge for the Suffield-East Granby Probate District.  McAnaney also practices law in the private sector at McAnaney and McAnaney.

State Rep. Ruth Fahrbach represents the 61st District, including Suffield, and parts of Windsor and East Granby, in the General Assembly.
