Rep. Kevin DelGobbo Named Legislator of the Year by Connecticut Association for Home Care & Hospice |

State Representative Kevin M. DelGobbo, R-70, Naugatuck, has been selected as Legislator of the Year by the Connecticut Association for Home Care & Hospice.
Rep. DelGobbo along with Sen. Jonathan Harris, D-West Hartford, were selected for their leading role in efforts to expand the state’s home care program for the elderly, one of the major accomplishments of the 2008 legislative session.
Both also played a leading role in expanding the opportunity for hospice care benefits to be made available to Connecticut residents.
The association will present the award to Rep. DelGobbo and Sen. Harris at its annual meeting and exposition to be held at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville on October 2.
“This legislation will have a profound impact on the opportunities that seniors and others with long term disabilities will have” said Rep. DelGobbo. “It represents a change of course for state policy that is perhaps one of the most important initiatives I have ever been involved in during my service in the legislature.”
Rep. DelGobbo co-authored a bill, SB 561, which will significantly expand the "Money Follows the Person" pilot program. The expansion, along with several other changes to the Medicaid system, will have a profound impact on the opportunities that seniors and others with long term disabilities will have to stay at home.
Rep. DelGobbo serves the 70th Assembly District of Naugatuck in the state House of Representatives. He is ranking member of the legislature’s budget-writing Appropriations Committee.
