DelGobbo Secures Key Funding for Renaissance Place |

State Rep. Kevin M. DelGobbo, R-70, Naugatuck, announced that $75,000 in state funding will help pay for an environmental impact evaluation (EIE) for the proposed Renaissance Place smart growth development in Naugatuck.
The funding was approved at the State Bond Commission meeting Wednesday, December 12, in Hartford. Rep. DelGobbo thanked Gov. M. Jodi Rell and her administration for supporting the borough of Naugatuck.
“Starting the EIE process is a key milestone in moving forward with this project,” DelGobbo said. “It is a critical requirement in being able to apply for and secure other state funds for this project, such as brownfields remediation.”
DelGobbo said he was particularly excited because this signaled vital support by Governor Rell for this economic development project.
DelGobbo also noted that the EIE is a process undertaken by the state Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD). This bond funds are allocated to the DECD in order to enable the department to begin that process.
Rep. DelGobbo serves the 70th Assembly District of Naugatuck in the state House of Representatives.
