Rep. DelGobbo Named to Two Major State Panels |

State Representative Kevin M. DelGobbo R-Naugatuck, has been appointed to two major state panels, the Finance Advisory Committee and the Medicaid Managed Care Council, House Republican Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr., R-Norwalk, announced today.
“As the House Ranking Member (Republican Leader) on the General Assembly’s Appropriations Committee, Representative DelGobbo is uniquely qualified to serve on both of these state boards,” Representative Cafero said. “He will carefully scrutinize any requests that come before the Finance Advisory Committee to ensure that they are responsible uses of state funds. As a member of the Medicaid Managed Care Council, he will work to ensure that more needy children are enrolled in the state’s HUSKY health care program. I was pleased to appoint him to both of these critical state panels.”
“The Finance Advisory Committee is responsible for approving transfers of state dollars from the General Fund to state agencies that are in addition to the budgets the General Assembly has previously approved for them. I will study each proposed transfer carefully to ensure that it is a justified and appropriate response to a genuine fiscal emergency rather than a quick fix for a minor problem that an agency could handle on its own without spending more taxpayer dollars,” Representative DelGobbo said.
“One of the Medicaid Managed Care Council’s most important responsibilities is to help develop programs to enroll more of the state’s uninsured needy children in the HUSKY heath care program,” Representative DelGobbo said. “While the program has succeeded in providing health care to thousands of Connecticut children who previously had no health insurance coverage, many children who are eligible for the HUSKY Plan have not been signed up. Our children are our future and I will make improving outreach programs for this critical state service my top priority.”
Representative DelGobbo also serves on the General Assembly’s Energy & Technology and Public Safety & Security committees.
