On Teen Internet Safety |

Statement sent by e-mail from Rep. Kevin M. DelGobbo to Naugatuck residents
Hi all,
Recent tragedies resulting from teen use of a website called myspace.com is a reminder to us that although the internet is a fantastic tool, it is also one where we should exercise some particular caution regarding children and teen use.
I did a little searching on the web for sites that might provide advice and safety tools that can be used. I came across one that I thought might be particularly helpful.
It’s called safeteens.com (www.safeteens.com.) The site includes a number of links and basic rules for online safety for teens, guidelines for parents, blog safety information and a link called staysafe.org, which I also thought was a great site.
I pass this along to you for your information.
I hope I’m not being too preachy here, but whether you have children or not, I hope you will take a few moments to view this site.
This information could be valuable to you, your family or your friends. You may wish to consider recommending this site to friends and others on your own e-mail distribution lists.
Thanks again.
Kevin
