DelGobbo to Co-chair YMCA Capital Campaign

 

State Rep. Kevin M. DelGobbo, R-70th, Naugatuck, will serve as co-chair for a $2.4 -million capital campaign for the Naugatuck YMCA, which was announced Sunday.

The capital campaign team includes Paul Fitzpatrick, as chairman, and co-chairs Kevin McSherry and Rebecca Zandvliet, who along with Rep. DelGobbo, will serve in the fundraising effort.

The capital campaign is being undertaken in order to complete substantial renovations to the facility on Church Street in Naugatuck.

The renovations include the installation of an elevator and significant improvements to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act throughout the building.

Also part of the renovations are a new workout center including state of the art equipment, all new locker rooms and fixtures, improvements to the pool area and new program space.

“The Naugatuck YMCA is a vital and irreplaceable asset to our community,” said Rep. DelGobbo. “I am extremely excited about these renovations and the enhancements that it will provide for Naugatuck.”

The Naugatuck YMCA was founded in 1895 and serves more than 4,500 members in addition to thousands of other residents who utilize the YMCA for a variety of program activities.

Rep. DelGobbo serves as treasurer and member of the board of directors of the Naugatuck YMCA.

Rep. DelGobbo represents the 70th Assembly District of Naugatuck in the state House of Representatives.
