DelGobbo Participates in Governor’s Fuel Assistance Summit

With the prospect of dramatic increase in home heating costs this winter, Governor M. Jodi Rell today convened a fuel assistance summit including legislative leaders, state agencies heads and industry officials.

Rep. Kevin M. DelGobbo, R-70-th, Naugatuck, ranking member of the legislature’s Energy and Technology Committee, participated in the meeting to raise ideas and propose relief for Connecticut residents.

Topics addressed included:

“Many people will face the prospect this winter of whether to heat or whether to eat,” said Rep. DelGobbo. “There are many good ideas on the table. We need to put them together into a workable proposal in the next few days and have legislation that we can implement by the end of the month.”

Rep. DelGobbo said, “Clearly, it is vital to provide assistance not only to low income families. It is just as important to find a way to help middle income families who also face difficulties in paying for home heating fuels.”

Rep. DelGobbo serves the 70th Assembly District of Naugatuck in the state House of Representatives.
