Rep. Caron Authorizes Funding for Killingly Downtown, Other Local Projects |

State Rep. Michael Caron, R-44, Killingly, Plainfield, Sterling, voted to authorize state funding in legislation adopted today by the state House and Senate of more than $3.5 million for northeastern Connecticut.
The legislation included:
· A grant-in-aid to the town of Killingly for downtown revitalization not exceeding $1 million
· Grant-in-aid to United Services of Dayville for alteration and expansion of facilities not exceeding $750,000.
· Grant-in-aid to the Quinebaug Valley Emergency Communications Center for land acquisition and construction not exceeding $2,950,000;
· Grant-in-aid to the Quinebaug Shetucket Heritage Corridor, Inc., of Putnam for planning the completion of the Airline Trail not exceeding $100,000
· Sterling will receive funding for school construction, plus any interest it may have incurred during a delay in adopting the annual state bonding bill that normally is adopted by June.
Rep. Caron serves the 44th Assembly District of Killingly, Plainfield and Sterling in the state House of Representatives.
