REP. CAFERO HONORED BY YMCA FOR LONG-TIME SUPPORT

NORWALK – State Rep. Lawrence F. Cafero Jr. of Norwalk was among those honored for continuing dedicated support for the YMCA of Norwalk at the organization’s annual event Thursday Jan. 26, 2006 at the West End Ave., facility.

YMCA officials lauded Cafero, along with other members of the Norwalk delegation, for  consistently supporting the organization’s efforts to expand services and for its fundraising efforts. “Larry Cafero has been a great friend and supporter of the YMCA of Norwalk. As a legislative leader in Hartford and a community leader back home, Larry has always been there for us,’’ said CEO/Executive Director Debbie Greenwood of the YMCA.

Cafero, the House Republican Leader, said, “I truly appreciate this recognition. I believe strongly in the goals and mission of the YMCA and what it means to the community and those who take advantage of it, particularly the young people who are drawn to it.’’

The event was the 78th annual meeting of the organization whose motto remains, “Build Strong Kids, Strong Families and Strong Communities.’’

Cafero added, “That is what this organization is all about.’’
