Rep. Burns to Hold Office Hours Saturday, January 20th

 

To be Held at A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Center Offices

 

State Representative Ron Burns, R-77th District, has scheduled constituent office hours for Saturday, January 20th at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Center Offices on Mix Street in Bristol.

Representative Burns’ office hours will take place between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Any 77th District resident interested in discussing problems that can be resolved at the state level or issues coming before the state legislature over the next few months are invited to meet with Representative Burns at the Little League Center Offices. No appointments are necessary.

Representative Burns plans to hold office hours on the third Saturday of each month at the Giamatti Center throughout the year – just as he did when he was a City Councilor from the 1st Council District.

“The 2007 legislative session, which got underway Wednesday, January 3rd, will be considering several issues of importance to Bristol residents this year, including education funding and initiatives to encourage economic growth and create jobs, as well as grants for local projects such as the downtown redevelopment initiative,” Representative Burns said.

“While I expect issues like these will be important to Bristol residents, I’m sure they are not the only ones. That’s why I hope to hear from as many people as possible at the beginning of this year’s legislative session. I will be basing my legislative goals and priorities on the input I receive from the people of the 77th District,” Representative Burns said.

“Although several residents already have written, called or sent me e-mails about the issues that concern them the most, I would like to hear from even more of you,” Representative Burns said. “If you’d like to share your thoughts or suggestions with me about any issue or problem affecting our city or our state, please take a few minutes and meet with me at the Giamatti Center on Saturday, January 20th.”
