State Representative Jan Giegler, R-Danbury, was elected to her first term representing the 138th District, which is comprised of sections of Danbury and New Fairfield, on November 5, 2002.
Giegler serves as a member of the Legislature’s Public Health Committee, Judiciary Committee, Commerce Committee and Internship Committee. She has been actively involved in the Danbury community for nearly 20 years.
Giegler, has been a member of Danbury’s City-Wide PTO Council since 1996, serving as its president from 2000 until 2004. She previously served on the Danbury Public Schools Long Range Facilities Study Committee. From 1996-1998, Giegler served as president of the King Street School PTO. In addition, she served as a substitute teacher in the Danbury Public School system from 1999-2002.
For more than 20 years, Giegler worked in the healthcare industry as an administrative director and a coordinator of an outpatient psychiatric clinic. She is a native of South Salem, NY and resides on Old Hayrake Road with her husband, Tom, and her son Jeff.
