Legislation to improve courthouse security in Connecticut was unveiled at a news conference Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the State Capitol held by, from left, state Senator Joan Hartley, D-Waterbury, Representative Labriola, state Representative Tony D’Amelio, R-Waterbury, Attorney Julie Porzio, and her lawyer, Joseph Tacopina. Ms. Porzio was seriously injured in a 2005 shooting in the Middletown Courthouse parking lot. Representative Labriola introduced the measure, which was cosponsored by Representative D’Amelio and Senator Hartley.
